Ray Bradbury quote

There were a couple of really good quotes by Ray Bradbury on The Writer's Almanac today:

-There are worse crimes than burning books. One of them is not reading them.
-Go to the edge of the cliff and jump off. Build your wings on the way down.

Do you think that close friends of Ray Bradbury called him "Ray Brad" for fun? I would have. Or maybe Rad Brad. Oo! Or Radburries. The possibilities are endless with this man.

I just call him R.Bra, always have. He never seemed to mind either.

Yeah, he's pretty cool about all that. It's so nice when the dead don't put up a fuss, isn't it?

When I was a kid I thought his name was Red Raspberry. When my folly was discovered by the fam, they laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed some more. I don't think I found out what was so funny for like two days. Ahhh, childhood trauma.

That reminds me, Farenheit 451 is on my list of books to read. It's one of a group of books that falls under the cone of dystopia.
